Privacy notice
Last updated: [date].
This notice explains what information DFA collects through this website, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.
Who we are
DFA (“D for Dog”) is run by [business legal name], [registered address]. We decide how the information you give us on this website is used, which makes us the “data controller” under UK data protection law.
You can contact us about your information at [contact email].
What we collect
When you sign up on this website, we collect:
- your business name
- your email address
- your agreement to receive emails from us, and when you gave it
We don’t ask for anything else. This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or any other tracking.
Why we collect it
We use your details to send you emails about DFA’s launch, our products and our offers.
We only do this because you ticked the box to agree. Your consent is our lawful basis for using your information under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your details, and we don’t share them with other companies for their own use. We use these service providers to run our email list and this website:
- Klaviyo stores our email list and sends our emails.
- Netlify hosts this website. Like any web host, it handles technical information such as your device’s IP address so it can show you the website securely.
Both companies are based in the United States. Both are certified under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (the “UK–US data bridge”), which the UK government recognises as protecting your information to UK standards when it’s sent to the US.
When our online shop opens, we plan to move our email list to our shop platform, [Shopify]. We’ll update this notice when that happens.
How long we keep it
We keep your details for as long as you’re on our email list. If you unsubscribe, we keep a record of that so we never email you again by mistake. You can ask us to delete your details completely at any time.
Unsubscribing
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can also email [contact email] and we’ll take you off the list.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct it if it’s wrong
- ask us to delete it
- withdraw your consent at any time (this won’t affect emails we’ve already sent)
- object to how we use your information
To use any of these rights, email [contact email]. We’ll reply within one month.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
